booked on LAN J SYD-AKL-SCL-EZE-FTE v.v. - is it possible to still do seat requests with QF now charging extra for the privilege?

am WP but have not given QF# because i'm due for assessment at the end of this month and am not close enough to requalify - will this affect choice of seats otherwise available? or should i give them QF# but ask them to leave out the flag at check-in so i can accrue the SCs for the next assessment period? (i'm presuming they don't assign the SCs/FF points according to the date of flights when you apply for credit retrospectively?)

Status credits accrue on the day you fly so it makes no difference if you aren't flying until you're next membership year.

I believe that WPs have a 'soft' landing so you will be SG next membership year if they don't comp you (a whole other thread).

Not sure where you got the idea that QF charge extra for seat selection (unless you want the exit row). I am an SG and have chosen all my seats for my flights in Jan/Feb (J Circle Asia).

My suggestion is that you choose your seats now while still showing as a WP.

And if you're going to remain a QFF get your membership put on the booking.
