Pardon me for the heresy, but I wonder if this thread isn't running a fine line between information and promotion/advertising?

Even advertising can be a good source of information if it's factual.

I think comparing the seats in QF to DJ is rather like comparing the Liberal Party to the Labor Party. Neither are really that much different, but they are both certainly painful and something you only want to put up with for a short period of time!

Unless when OLCIing you find are preallocated 4D on a 734 like I am to BNE tomorrow. ;) :p

I still don't think I'd want to sit in 4D for more than a couple of hours though!

OT: (For this thread, apologies to the OP)

Read post #20 - 4D has 36" pitch on a QF 734!

Doesn't make the actual seat itself more comfortable! Don't get me wrong, legroom is nice esp when you are over 6' like I am, but even with a 36" seat pitch you can't take that numb feeling away from the backside. Or the crick in the neck when the "adjustable" headrests only adjust in one direction ... down!

By far the best economy seats I've experienced were on JQ. A good comfortable leather seat plus exit an row was about as good as is possible.

Good point! There's a lot left to be desired in the comfort of the seat itself. If you MUST be crammed in like sardines (and that seems to be the norm for Y in just about all airlines) you could at least expect a better degree of comfort in the seat itself.

These convertible seats are NOT slimline so they are actually more comfortable than being portrayed!

And certainly better than any other seat I have had on DJ or in WHY on JQ or QF (even the old 737 convertable seats from the mid 90's).
