Who should I ring about changing my seat allocation??

We are flying from SYD to MEL on QF2, which was booked on the QF website as a red e-deal and have already been allocated seats at the very back of the plane, despite my Qantas Club / Frequent Flyer profile stating a preference for the front of the plane and/or a front window if available.

I rang the Frequent Flyer Service Centre and was told rather abruptly that:

(a) my flight was ticketed in London (??); and
(b) the seats couldn't be changed (the lady did not attempt to see what else was available ... I can see on ITN that there are two seats down the front)

I know that this flight comes from LHR, through BKK and SYD and then on to MEL, and that there will obviously be people on there who have are ticketed through to MEL and have their seats already.

BUT, if anyone can shed any light on what I could/should do next, it would be greatly appreciated.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'd recommend trying the Frequent Flyer service centre again, and hope to get a different call centre operator. It seems that seat allocations and passenger loads in general are somewhat fluid, and can change quite quickly. If you happen to call when seats open up, you may be lucky.

I had a look on ITN but cannot find the seat allocation enquiry. How can I check what has been allocated to me?

Thanks
