Seat 1D Question

Is there anything to be wary of with a seat 1D allocation for:

MEL-AKL on a Jetconnect 734
AKL-SYD on a Qantas 738

I'm always cautious with any bulkhead type seating. :shock:

Is there anything to be wary of with a seat 1D allocation for:

MEL-AKL on a Jetconnect 734
AKL-SYD on a Qantas 738

From memory, 1D and F have a cutout in the bulkhead which gives you a decent amount of foot room.

No such luck on 1A or C which is where I always seem to end up!
 
Overhead locker space could be a problem, particulalry if you board late, and particularly on the 738.

But then no-one reclining on you is a plus.
 
Head back a row!!! Row 2 is better by far - even with the cut out, the seat is cramped

I often take my shoes off and put my feet against the bulkhead :shock: ... but row 1 is definitely not a preference and I will always try to get further back
 
All dependent on one's height of course. On the 734 I find 1D/F definitely the best seats, but would definitely prefer row 2 than 1A/C. I greatly favour front row for the privacy. The cutout provides good extra 15cm that makes quite some difference at my height. It's the difference between not being able to point toes in 1A/C to not being able to touch the wall with the cutout.

Whilst I'm not overly tall (OK , not really tall at all), caution has seen 1D become 2D on both flights (along with 2E on the 332 from SYD-MEL the same night - though row 1 is unavailable to me anyway).

I switched seats with someone (so some sibling kids could sit together) on AA2 in J on a 762 from LAX-JFK earlier this year, row 8 to row 7 (bulkhead) and found there was a little less legroom, hence the wariness re bulkhead seats.
