They were on the extreme right of the 'New Posts' bar and only Google search is there now.

I generally don't use the vBulletin based search as it is rather ordinary.

Do you think it could be the browser? I have been reluctant to upgrade to Internet Explorer 10 or even Internet Explorer 11.

I avoid using IE whenever I can.

You might like to try clearing AKL your caches and cookies.

This is weird.

Advanced search has now returned on the right hand side on the same line as "New Posts, Private Messages...."

And Search also appears above first post on left hand side after clicking on "New Posts"
