Being 'lifetime Bronze' I sometimes wonder what is needed to get to silver.
We currently only do one international trip annually.

Either
SYD-NRT-SYD (JQ *class); or
SYD-LHR-SYD in QF Y (it alternates each year).
At the moment we only fly for an annual ski trip.

So for example, if I was to do another Syd-NRT-SYD JQ *class annually, how many extra SC would I also need.

thanks

SYD-NRT-SYD return in *class would get you 280 SC. To initially qualify for silver you need an additional 70 SC (to get to 350). To retain silver, you would need an additional 20 (to retain you need 300)

Also, don't forget your anniversary date of when you must have the SC's!

So if you did your trip at Christmas, and your membership year was Feb, then you'll have to start counting again come March if you haven't flown that extra required amount.

Login to your account and click Summary to see what I'm talking about.

thanks, just checked, seem to have a 28 Feb expiry.
We are departing mid Feb & return 1 March.
How does that work.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

the flight out will be in your current earn period and the flight back will be in your next years earn period.

if you did another return trip before 28 feb 2011, after you get back from your next trip, then you will make it to silver.

you muigth also be able to get the points by doing some domestic trips, or a trip over to NZ.

you best have a good look at what you actually get when you are a Silver flyer and then justify it over how much it will cost to both reach silver and maintain.
As you only fly a very small amount each year i would think the benefits very minimal.

thanks all, I'll look further into (it's only taken 14 yrs).
We have been doing back to back winters for some time now. The +1 probably would like a trip somewhere warm as well, maybe Hawaii!

Hi,

It would make more sense to purchase QC membership (perhaps through AFF's discounted scheme) than to spend money on getting PS.

PS only gives minor improvements over NB and being a QC member is better than a PS (IMO).
