Scoot changes SYD operations incl SYD OOL tag

Scoot from 29JUL14 is adjusting operations to Gold Coast and Sydney, including certain service operating as triangle flight, until 25OCT14. Planned changes as follow.


Gold Coast 5 weekly service remain unchanged (except 17AUG14 – 31AUG14 and October 2014, 4 weekly)
Sydney Reduce from 7 to 6 weekly
From 29JUL14, Scoot will operate a triangle service connecting the two cities, twice a week. This results in minor capacity reductions

This also means that Scoot won't be taking domestic passengers.
This is like the old HKG-ADL-MEL and UAs MEL-SYD-LAX
 
What's the reason for the reduction? Are they not getting the loads they need/want? Or is it a aircraft availability issue?

From memory the last couple of reductions at OOl were due aircraft availability, i'll keep an ear to the ground....

I would suggest its due to low loads.

That seems to be the story of the SIN-AU routes lately. QF can't fill their Y and Y+ seats for the start of the SIN school holidays, SQ had only 280-odd pax on an A380 the other week when it failed the parking test. It looks like this part of the world is heading for a down turn - property prices have been dropping as well.
