Scoot and VA interline

If only we could earn VA FF points aka VR points and VA SC on Tiger and Scoot, that would be the best thing since sliced bread, so to speak.
I like the look of Scoot's fares, and they have a flight from SIN cheap to SYD arr a bit before lunch, giving me time to transfer to the ADL flight.
Now that we have a through running in VA's system for flights on Scoot, how about pushing for the capability to earn FF on Tiger and Scoot?
Push.

But that would involve flying them :( far prefer VA to operate to Asia themselves

I wonder if this is a stepping stone to a partnership similar to singapore air seeing the interested parties are all one and the same.

Just looked for some flights home from sin.

Feb 4th sin -per 2biz pax for $790sgd. Or $90 for fly only.

Don't know much else that come that close even if it's only y+

Yes, it would be nice for VA to fly to other parts of Asia, but thats a no go.
I wrote to John B a while back, and dared to suggest to him, why not VA (or VB at that time,) join with *A, he said it was not on the plans, and it was with his signature at the bottom of the reply letter.
That was when he wasn't as busy as he is now.
I think that VA would have to join *A to get to fly in their own name to other parts of Asia. Once they get to join or agree to join *A, then its most likely VA would fly a 777 to SIN in its own right/own name.
But I think that them giving a VA flight code to SQ metal, would be the cheapest option for VA.
VA does not have to pay any aircraft charges, no staff charges, no depreciation, little cost to put a bit of $ SQ's way for VA VR members to earn a smallish VR FF points earn rate and VR SC earn rate and thats about it.
If I was to go to SIN now, I would have to book it under VA's system to earn the most VR FF points and SC, (am VA PS) now. I could book under SQ's system and earn less, but have seat selection without having to ring VCC up.
Sorry, but to summise, I don't think we will see VA flying itself to SIN.
Right now, NZ is part of *A and are flying a 777 from AKL to SIN once a day, plus 2 or 3 flights from SIN to parts of NZ by SQ.

Can you imagine if Scoot allowed us to earn VA FF points and VA SC on its flights, seeing Scoot's Business (J/Z class) fares are so cheap!
I would fly Scoot if only they allowed earning FF points, either as part of VR or on its own.
AA (D7) now no longer flies to and from ADL to KUL after next year.
SQ's J is a financial killer, nice to sit in SQ's J, but at $4500 a pop each way, ouch.
EDIT: never knew it was only $2300 to $2500 to get SQ J (one way) Au to SIN under VA's booking system.
Mmm, maybe I do need to go to SIN again, rather than just going as far as NZ.

Membership in Star alliance is unlikely to be an issue - they're probably better off getting closer to Etihad in that respect although their ownership structure is probably going to preclude it, more likely to be the costs involved in expanding the fleet and their current financial positiom.

Maybe if next full year results are ok they'll go ahead as the time is ripe with QFi in retreat and the ME and Chinese carriers poised to try and take more market share into Oz - I think they'll have little choice but to make a move or be forever trapped in a niche position.

I doubt we would see VA 777s going to Asia as they're not well suited to most routes (previously failing to NAN and HKT) and would bring in more revenue on long haul.
