Scoot and Tigerair to join KrisFlyer with earn/burn capabilities

So I could start flying Scoot soon enough, earn KrisFlyer points (Whatever small amount it is) & eventually credit back to VA....

Fun times ahead indeed

Sounds like this will give JQ a run for its money into ASIA.

Wonder if Tiger Australia will be able to earn and burn?

Email from Krisflyer today touting Krisflyer points on Scoot and Tiger Air . Links to this promo page : http://www.tigerair.com/combo/

Small footnote says :
Earning and redeeming of KrisFlyer miles is only available for flights marketed and operated by Tigerair (TR). It is not applicable for Tigerair Australia (TT) and Tigerair Taiwan (IT)

So not available on Australian flights. But I assume you can earn on flights to / from Singapore and convert the KF points to VA.

The earn is minimal. Eg. SYD/MEL-SIN on scoot either 250 miles or 600 miles depending on fare paid. On Scoot, the real benefit for these is the flexibility (free changes up to 24 hrs out, ability to select extra leg room seat and priority checkin/boarding. The KF miles are just a small token side benefit.

This is good news.

Did a search on Scoot OOL-CRK which produces a TZ / TR combination booking. I wonder if one voucher can be used on that.

ANyway, I'm looking forward to this new enhancement.

Just checked the 'earn' rate on TR

Only available on the FlexiCombo package (15kg baggage + Upfront + krisflyer + one free flight change) - Starts at S$50
no meal which you do get with the Combo package....

However the 'points earn' is positively TINY...

So to make Krisflyer Gold on SIN - KUL
= 50000 / 20 flights = 2,500 flights
= 6.8 flights / day everday for the whole year....

-- and that's after spending S$12,500 on Combo fees alone, let alone the flight fees plus airport fees and taxes...

EDIT - Actually scratch that - these aren't Elite Miles - so cant be used for Qualification AT ALL
