Hi there comrades,

On on 5 December 2013 we are flying from Tianjin to Singapore on Scoot 'Biz' on TZ89 then onwards on QF6 (purchased through Emirates as EK5006) to Sydney. As far as I understand it, we will have to clear Singapore immigration, pick up our bags, then recheck in.

Is there any way that this can be avoided? Perhaps some service you pay to pick up and check your bags though? My googling seems to indicate no, and that we will just have to suck it up. However AFF is a fantastic pot of knowledge so I thought I would tap into it and see, never know my luck!

As an aside, I assume that even though I booked through Emirates I can still use the Qantas checkin and lounge as a qantas club member?

Cheers!

On 5 December 2013? Hmmm.

Scoot arrives in SIN T2 and Qantas departs from T1. If you go to the transfer counter C in T1 and show them your luggage tags from Scoot flight they should be able to transfer luggage to QF your flight.

You should also be able to get your boarding passes from Transfer counter C and use the lounge if you have lounge access.
