On my return flights from the USA to Oz:

AA DEN-LAX then QF LAX-SYD. Same day. Luggage checked through at DEN to SYD. Different PNR tickets.

BP for both sectors issued by AA at DEN.

At the gate for the QF11 flight, the AA issued BP when scanned threw a flag - beeped.

Apparently my australian passport needed to be scanned. Which they did at the gate. Slight delay.

I wonder the next time I connect from US dom to Qf int should I visit the QF checkin counter at LAX to get my passport scanned?
