Hi guys flying business class from PER-ARN. I was looking at crediting points to Velocity via my Krisflyer account but turns out Krisflyer will be closing it down 3 months before i leave. Question i have is it better to just open a new Krisflyer account and transfer to Velocity or Setup SAS FF account? i dont travel internationally too much but hope to change that in future, just dont want to waste the points.

Why is KrisFlyer closing your account 3 months before you leave? Can't you just put some activity in the account now to keep it open?

FWIW, I wouldn't bother with the SAS frequent flyer program and you can't earn Velocity points for any sectors operated by SAS.

It should remain open as long as you have account activity at least once every 3 years.

Also keep in mind that activity doesn't just have to come from flying.

Any suggestions to keeping the account "alive"
