Hi Guys

What exactly are SC points that people keep referring to.?

Can you earn them on award flights or do they get earnt on paid flights ?

What benefits do they give ?

Thanks

Status Credits are use by Qantas FF to determine your Frequent Flyer membership level. (e.g. PS, WP)

The higher the class of travel and the further you go the more SC's you get on an eligible flights. The more SC's you get during you membership year, the hight your status can go.

More here: Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Benefits & Privileges

The only way to advance through an airline scheme is to get SC's. The more you get the more important you are to an airline.

I got 2800 last year and my wife got complimentary Gold status with QF (one world) which gets her into all the one world lounges. You have a year to accumulate them or they expire, get 7000 and you get silver for life and 14000 for gold on QF.

Strategise and accumulate!!!:p

SCs can only be earned on paid flights in eligible booking classes.

Because HBA-ADL requires two sectors as HBA-MEL-ADL, you will earn 10 SC's on each sector for a total of 20. Travel via SYD and you get even more.

Now how do i get a flight that goes from here to SYD then ADL as all the info im getting is going through MEL

EDIT: Don't bother replying - i just thought about it and worked it out!!!

It's possible but note that the fares are quite a bit more expensive when HBA-ADL is entered because you're essentially booking two domestic flights, one to SYD and the next to ADL. I would guess that SYD is not a permitted transit point on HBA-ADL whereas MEL is.
