Booked last minute return flight BNE-SYD-MEL, both legs on B737/A330 for 48K points plus taxes.

Need to fly BNE-MEL-BNE anyway so mind as well doing it the long way in 1A :)

SWMBO and I booked a simple MEL-SYD on New Year's Day in J to avoid the relatively high Y prices and gain a few bonus SCs. Not good value but neither was the cash option.

The best value fare of this nature by a long way that I can find is OOL-xSYD-CBR or vv in J. 16k points + taxes for 40 SCs (@ 50%).

Tried to register for this yesterday afternoon. Despite it being available up until 6 October, it said the registration period had closed.

That's weird, I successfully registered about 10:30pm last night and booked straight afterwards

Booked family holiday on classic awards. Looks like we're all good on getting this cheap status.

How long after flight have SC's been manually posted?
thanks

I'd just like to post something positive :)
My SC for a recent Classic Award posted within 48 hours of the return leg.
Happy days

Hmmm, this is a weird one.
Just spent the weekend in PER on a Classic J Award booked during the promo.
Flights SYD-MEL-PER and return.
SC have only posted for the first sector on each trip ie. SYD-MEL and MEL-PER. All flights are showing on my activity statement.
Has anyone else had this happen ?
I guess I'll have to call up. Dreading this as the FF service centre hasn't been all that flash recently when I've called.

PF I can't shed any light but the T&Cs do say "..may take up to six weeks to credit..." Seems weird that one sector would post and not the other. Did you call or are you waiting it out?

I took my J classic today. Posted as 0SC before I'd collected my bags*, so now I'll just wait out the six weeks and hope the system works.

*Priority bags delivered very promptly, well done BNE baggage team!

Update: SCs posted yesterday T+5days. Seems reasonable over Christmas. This was promptly followed by an email from the robot telling me I'm very close to reaching Platinum. Maybe it's just me, but I don't call being 500SC's away "close".

So I booked our family trip under this promo. Had to change the outbound leg a couple of weeks ago. The flight has come in with zero earning.

Is that to be expected, due to the flight change and presumably re-issued ticket? Should I call and ask for earning? Or would there be a later adjustment? Experts?

You're out of luck medhead. I just checked the T&C screenshot and changing he itinerary voids the deal. Sorry.

Not necessarily so IME.

I booked a simple MEL > SYD return in J during this promotion, changed the date of the return leg and whole new eticket generated as a result.
The 20 status credits per segment were awarded a few days after the flight was taken.
So I was relieved, as I too did not think these SC were going to post correctly.

Thanks for the advice and looking into my issue. I've checked the T&Cs now. I couldn't find anything that said changing the itinerary voided the deal. But did find the following. I haven't cancelled, so that's fine. The change was to flights inside the eligible travel period. So that should be fine as well.

If you cancel your initial qualifying booking or change it to be outside of the eligible travel period this bonus offer will not apply. Status Credits may take up to 6 weeks after completion of your travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account

The second sentence indicates there should be a separate credit. So I'll wait to see what happens. Cheers

We had to change one by a day to be present at a social engagement. Be interesting if the SCs are lost medhead.

I'll update, in up to 6 weeks. ;)

I have another complication that might prevent SC as well. Stupidly didn't use a card for the for "taxes", instead a payment method that isn't supposed to earn. That might automatically cut the SC.

I have a booking to make next week... Didn't get to use my last offer, would love another opportunity!

Well good to see that QF systems are still finding bookings under this promotion. I travelled on 9 July
2016 after registering on 4 October and on 13 July had following post to my account:
QANTAS CLASSIC AWARD STATUS CREDITS PROMOTION 14JUL16 40 SC
QANTAS CLASSIC AWARD STATUS CREDITS PROMOTION 14JUL16 10 SC

The flights were MEL-SYD and SYD-BANGKOK. On the same booking I have a Singapore to Melbourne flight so should get another 30 SCs so maybe a return to platinum might be possible this year.
