Hi all,

Experienced something weird yesterday - some of my recent flights on WS (QF marketed) didn't credit under the correct fare class. Booked Flex Y through QF.com and was credited with discount Y for the WS sectors. Called up, was told even though I booked a Flex fare some partner airlines don't price and book in as a flex fare and therefore the original discount Y was correct.. go figure. HUCA and was told is was a computer error and additional points and SC manually credited straight away.

Shame something like this booked entirely through QF isn't seamless. I wonder how many people don't know or care.

Just a reminder to check all your flights credit properly!

Almost every airline has fares where the long leg books into fully flex but the short sectors book into a lower class. It's quite normal.

I have noticed this "feature" as well. All my flex Y tickets booked via QF Website have credited at the discount Y rate on the codeshare legs. So I Rang Qantas they told me bad luck you are booked into a discounted code for that leg so the discounted Y crediting is correct.

Wrote an email to the SST and I outlined how crazy it is, that I booked Flexible Economy, Paid Flexible Economy and if I want to change the ticket then it will behave like a Flexible Y ticket, so just because they decide to book it into a lower bucket with the other carrier (something that you cant control when booking via their website mind you) that then clearly it needs to credit as a Flexible Economy.

Response was that they would "courtesy credit" the difference, which lead me to believe they think it is actually crediting correctly at the lower rate and couldn't be bothered arguing with me.

Very interested to see what other people's experience is when trying to get the SC adjusted on these codeshare legs when booking Flex Y

If I book Flex Y, I expect all the rules of a Flex Y ticket to apply - particularly if its booked as a QF marketed flight. It's not like there's the dubious little i stating it will be booked in a lower class.

They are offering a Fully Flex ticket at a price more than saver - what's the point if you're not going to offer all the conditions of a flex fare?

For reference - the QF website at booking quoted the correct status credit earn - with the codeshare flight booked and crediting as a Flex fare.
