Could some one please do a SC calculation on the following itinerary. (QF SC calculator does not recognise some of the destinations even though its AA marketed and operated.
For purposes of calculation class of travel =J

QF SYD-MEL 40
QF MEL-LAX 190
AA LAX-MSY
AA MSY-CLT
AA CLT-CHS
AA CHS-CLT
AA CLT-SFO
QF LAX-MEL 190
QF MEL-SYD 40

You know how to do it yourself, right?

Not according to some rules in QF partner.
Sites like Mileage Monkey 80Sc LAX-MSY as you suggest (post deleted)may not necessary be correct

Between East and west coast USA J = 50 SC

the calulator has challotte and (new orleans) San Fran - saying 50 SC in business

otherwise just look up the distance and then use the table. I do not think new orleans to LA would be considered east/west coast flights. I'm seeing about 1600 miles between airports, then using the all other flights table - 80 SC.

I don't use/trust the calculator for partner airlines.

Here is you need to do:

Work out the booking class and its corresponding category: Earn Categories for flights on partner airlines

You then ascertain the earn for the relevant segment: Partner Airline Earning Table

This is based either on city pair (specific definitions such as "Dallas and New York" or West Coast USA/Canada and East Coast USA/Canada.) or distance ("Intra-USA Short Haul" or "All other flights" tables); use www.gcmap.com for distance (it about 99.5% agrees with QFF).

Simpler and Fairer eh?

I think this is correct

QF SYD-MEL 40 (calculator)
QF MEL-LAX 190 (calculator)
AA LAX-MSY 80 (All other flights distance)
AA MSY-CLT 30 (intra USA short haul)
AA CLT-CHS 20 (intra USA short haul)
AA CHS-CLT 20 (intra USA short haul)
AA CLT-SFO 50 (coast to coast)
QF LAX-MEL 190 (calculator)
QF MEL-SYD 40 (calculator)

Quirky that LAX-MSY is worth more than CLT-SFO

Another tip for the calculator is to try the city pairs in a different order. For example, GEG (Spokane) only works if used as the departing city not the arriving city.
