Sam Chui gets Starlux into trouble

I guess the argument is if the Chairman allowed someone into the coughpit they are (have been) authorised.

And for the record I find Noel Phillips enjoyable entertainment.

According to the newspaper reports, the only persons allowed in the coughpit are:

"authorized personnel and Flight Dispatchers of the operator"

Perhaps Sam was a temporary employee of the operator?

Don't know but the dictionary suggests:

"Personnel definition: a body of persons employed in an organization or place of work. "

You may disagree but I like the guy. I believe that he has his pilots licence as well so that may mean that its easier for him to access restricted areas (I'm no expert). He gets viewers into places we can't go. Sure the airlines suck-up to him but he doesn't obfuscate this.

Yes I also watch Dennis Bunnick, Josh Cahill and others to get a more 'balanced' reviews too and then put it altogether in my head to form an opinion.

I'm sure most people don't only get information/opinions from a single source?

Yes, I was thinking similar, along the lines that Sam Chui's content is broader and therefore potentially more interesting for the target audience. He's not even pretending to provide unbiased reviews, but he does seem to get good access to crew and viewers see more of things like meal prep, behind the scenes etc which can make the videos more interesting. Some reviewers instead generate interest by manufacturing dramas, where anyone travelling frequently would know better, but hey they've got to generate views, so why not?

Put it this way - if I view a Sam Chui video - it's not for a product review.

Dennis Bunnick
I reckon is a mini Sam Chui

I don't know if this episode was a manufactured drama. But certainly it has turned into one - but I think only a small one though because it's only in the Taiwanese media and some aviation media. I doubt it would do him any reputational harm. Afterall any publicity is good publicity

100%

Also runs a tours business, meaning we can't be certain there aren't conflicts of interest (in that tour operators who buy airfares will probably favour one carrier over another due to business agreements).

I wasn’t referring to this particular episode as a manufactured drama. There’s one other reviewer that always seems to have some form of drama or another.

I have not heard of Dennis Bunnick. How did he becomes famous?
His mother started a small tour company in Adelaide about 30 years ago and it’s grown into a pretty solid business which Dennis now runs. I’ve met him a few times at various functions and events and he really is friendly and willing to chat.
