Would be annoying, but can't see why the other 717's couldn't be converted?

What's this about Gove? I haven't flown the route yet, do I need to book it soon?!

That wouldn't be good news at all.

Unhappy Qantas workers started the rumour?

Its probable the seats are no longer available, and new seats would require an entire refit of the aircraft which won't happen.

re Gove, expect flights to stop from November, when the main employer leaves town.

Unhappy Qantas workers started the rumour?

I wouldn't say that. This was a couple who were relocating.
All QF staff were going to fly from SYD or BNE. I can't comment on check in staff or luggage, but they are probably out sourced already.

QFlink-isation is preferable to Jetstarisation, but where are the additional 717s necessary for this?

Or could QF sack all staff needed for these flights, and lease X number of 737-800s to Cobham who would then contract with QF to provide the routes as QFlink?

Wish this rumour is humour. Can't imagine that CNS QF club used for anything else unless VA lounge was to grow larger.

It is very rare on tsv route j cabin isn't full or at least 3/4 full.

Of course we don't know about paying VS upgrades, a quick look at availability this week shows mostly J9

Network Aviation is moving towards updating their AOC to include scheduled operations (they're currently charter only). Once this happens, QF can increase the utilisation of the F100s that sometimes operate one rotation per day out of PER.

That should free up some 717s or 738s to head east.

And on a Saturday afternoon flight BNE-TSV that I was on yesterday - I think it was 8/12 J class seats occupied (although a given that we don't know how many are points upgrades or possible JASA status runners) and the Y cabin was about 70-75% which is pretty normal. Even though VA J is always much cheaper than QF J the QF J cabins always seem to have reasonable patronage wheras VA seem to have trouble filling their J class cabins, I imagine thats got to do a lack of a VA lounge and the historical advantage that QF have by retaining their lounge. VA Y class load factors are usually good and the JQ guys have not exactly been rushed off their feet with demand for their JQ flights, which is not surprising as the JQ fares are often very similar to VA and QF mainline anyway.

I think people have just heard about the CNS crew base closing, and are reading a total withdrawal of QF mainline into that. Will be intersting to see anyway.
