Rumour - EK to fly A380 SYD - PER

Not going to happen.

They could only fly International Pax onboard. I don't see the point, fly SYD-PER-DXB-LHR?They would be mad to reroute the direct flight via Perth, Etihad would be laughing.

Doubt it will happen, I would prefer EK to axe one of the east coast TT flights & add a PER-AKL leg on one of the PER flights.

Quite a few articles and threads about this rumor...supposed to be the 1st of May

EK flying the 380 to PER (as a part of the PER-DXB rotation) or them using it for a tag flight PER-SYD? If it's the latter this is the first I've heard of it.

Can we read between the lines, they have done numbers and the only way they can get the A380 into Perth is to exit a east coast port and into Perth?

Flight radar always has them flying very close to perth anyway

Maybe the rest of you will get to experience what us lucky ones on the Trans-tasman have had for a few years now. A380 vs 737 choice (even in economy) is a no brainer.

EK treat me so much better as a QFF SG travelling on QF flight number than QF ever do. Op-ups, near 100% shadow, welcome on every flight, awesome lounge food compared to QP etc, etc.

Absolutely true, from 1 May passengers will be able to fly from SYD-PER on EK A380s. Trouble is that it will be a very costly exercise to do so, and there is a long layover in DXB in the SYD-PER direction. :p

It sounds very much like someone has got SYD & DXB mixed up. It is well known that EK are commencing A380 services DXB-PER on 1 May.

that makes sense, if they were selling from 1 May you'd expect them to be on sale now.
