So now to the food. I started with the duck salad which was nice and said after that the beef brisket. They both came at the same time.

The beef was dry and tasteless.
Mrsdrron had the lamb shoulder with fries. It was much better and she enjoyed it.

She then had the pavlova for dessert and I the pork bao bun. Both of these dishes were very good.

Looked at the board only to find that the BA flight was up as being on time so I checked with the desk. The board is controlled by the airport not QF and i was assured the 7.30pm time was still correct. A little later the BA flight disappeared altogether,

Now as this is a frequent flyer site prepare to put up with quite a few plane pics.

At about 1840 we headed of to the gate. BA 16 wasn't up on any board and when we got to the gate again no sign for BA on the gate display. A few minutes later the crew arrived. The cabin manager made a phone call and then BA 16 made an appearance on all screens.
It turns out they had been affected by a problem on BA15 exLHR on 22/9. They had flown the SIN sector 2 days before and were scheduled to fly the Saturday BA15 SIN - SYD. However as the friday flight was 21 hours late leaving LHR they were on the Sunday BA15 into SYD arriving ~0530. And here they were at 7pm the same day to operate the flight to SIN. What's more those in the First cabin were excellent and service with a smile. I passed on my appreciation to the CSM and also to BA.

So on their old &*& with 2 rows of F. Only 4 of 8 seats occupied. The seat was fine but controls were a little confusing. And the biggest problem. The plane was not fitted with wifi.
So to the seat. lots of storage options.

The canapes were very nice and I enjoyed the waygu beef starter.
muse 1p-092.jpg
muse 1p-081.jpg

And for mains I had the barramundi which was perfectly cooked and enjoyable.
muse 1p-082.jpg
muse 1p-083.jpg

The sticky pudding though was very dry and only had a spoonful.
muse 1p-091.jpg

Just before landing I had the chicken and mushroom pie which was nice.
muse 1p-093.jpg

The wines I had were the LP champagne as a PBD then the English sparkling after take off. With the meal I enjoyed the Pinot noir and after the Chateauneuf- du- Pape.

There were no movies I particularly wanted to watch. There was a TV documentary on Tokyo I would have liked to watch but was Japanese and only Korean subtitles. However there was a good section of British Airways short films on various historic planes and flying in past times that was quite interesting. As no wifi I ended up sleeping for 2-3 hours.

The 2 FAs in F were excellent. Always smiling, constant top up of wine and checking regularly. Funny though that I did send a compliment via the BA website and today for the first time got a survey for the flight from BA. Maybe a bit of bias in who they select?

We made good time to SIN and we had left 15 minutes early so our arrival into SIN T1 was at 1am instead of the advised time of 1.45 am. One problem was the airbridge went to the second time so the J pax were off before the 4 from F. However less than 10 left the flight at SIN so an absolutely deserted Immigration hall. Straight throuh with the usual slight delay for me until the camera gave the green tick.

A bit of a wait for the bags. Only 11 cases and with us being the only F pax our bag was naturally number 11. Straight through Customs to the Sky train to Terminal 3. We arrived there at 1.35 only to find it was shut for maintenance from 1.30. So back track and a bit of a walk through an empty and dark Jewel where only 1 lift lobby was working to get to the bridge to T3.
Get to the CP entrance on level 3 to find it closed due to renovations. So down to level 1 in the terminal lifts. Now I had checked in online hoping that would save time. Basically it didn't so ended up in our room at nearly 3am. As usual upgraded to a pool view room but at last have made the top floor.

Fortunately an early afternoon flight to BKK so we were able to sleep until 8.30am. In the morning we could see the view.

It was easy this time to take the points at the CP.In too late to go to a bar and breakfast was always going to be in the SKL lounge. Always like the orchids at Changi.
muse 1p-096.jpg

muse 1p-097.jpg

Once again had to scan my passport twice and wait for some time before the camera gave me the green tick and off to the lounge.

It was the quietest I have ever seen it.

And as Mrsdrron always says here I had my usual weird breakfast. We were in the T3 lounge but our plane went from T2. So about an hour before departure caught the skytrain to T@. Followed a sign pointing to the SQ lounge but couldn't find it. Asked a staff member who gave us directions which led us to the food court. Gave up and went t the gate which had just opened.
In typical Changi fashion it was off with the belt, shoes and watch and you still end up with a pat down.

Our plane was at the gate. The first time we have flown their 787-10.

Only a 2 hour flight. I was flattered on boarding when the FA said welcome back drron before I had shown her my BP. Only offered water as a PDB and didn't feel like asking for champagne. I did have a glass after take off.
So to the menu.
muse 1p-109.jpg

muse 1p-110.jpg

muse 1p-111.jpg

muse 1p-112.jpg

No satays to start. We had both ordered BTC. Mrsdrron a steak which was dry and way overcooked so left most of it.
I did better with the Nasu dengaku.
muse 1p-107.jpg

It really tasted nice. And the crab salad plus dessert. The salad was good the dessert very, very sweet.
muse 1p-108.jpg

Nothing really appealed so I listened to a Freddy Mercury album and then Ray Charles.
On leaving the plane 3 of the crew said See you again soon doctor. Felt good.
For the first time we had a gate in the middle of the terminal so a very short walk to the priority Immigration. Straight through. So a wait for our bag but this time it was one of the first out.
So within 20 minutes we were in the limousine on the way to the Kimpton Maa Lai.

Correct drron the T2 Lounge is a bit hidden down a long narrow corridor past the food court due to the (ongoing) renovations. Logically, you took the first set of escalators up immediately after immigration ( from the SQ check in area ) rather than taking the ones further down which would deposit you at the entrance to both SKL lounges, I dare say you aren't the first to abandon a lounge visit in T2!

Our first time at a Kimpton. Didn't get a chance to use the Kimpton secret word as we were whisked straight from the Limo to our room.Upgraded to a Premium king room from an entry level king. A very nice room with plenty of room.

From 5pm until 6 they have a Happy Hour at the Pool Bar. Not that great. The wine is just a choice of white or red. Cranswick outback creek Chardy or Shiraz. Straight from the Riverina. With that you get a bowl of crisps. Seems to be for everyone but only a small number of the guests attend.

muse 1p-123.jpg
muse 1p-124.jpg

They have a limited number of dishes you can buy. On the first night Mrsdrron had the mango and sticky rice and I had a burger which was very good.

The next morning it was to the main restaurant for Breakfast. An amazing place with virtually every type of Asian cuisine plus some Indian and Middle eastern dishes as well. And basically much changes every day. A whole lot of pictures. First there are orange and mango juices available but most of the choice is little bottles of mixed flavors. On the first day I had the energy mixture which was mainly carrot juice but many Thai herbs. The next day was a beetroot mixture which I really like.
