Apologies if I have missed this, but after reading the current 19 pages of comments and the Qantas and Emirates releases, plus the special travel agent ones that have been posted here, I can't see a lot of information regarding how this will work for non-status customers who are flying in a premium cabin.
The reason I ask is that I am flying London - Melbourne via Dubai (then to Canberra) in First Class (MEL-CBR is business obviously) on QF10 in May having bought AA points. I am only a Bronze QF member and as the only activity I have done with AA is purchase their points (I have to admit to never even having seen an AA plane with my own eyes!!) I would be on the lowest tier possible.
Which lounge (if any) will I have access to in London? It seems that if I was a Platinum or Gold Member I would have access to the Emirates First/Business Class Lounge or a Qantas Member the AA lounge. Previously I think there was a BA first class lounge - presumably this is no longer.
Dubai is only a 1 1/2 hour stopover (unfortunately - if the first class host asks if they can do anything for me - I will say "yes please, put me on tomorrow's flight from Dubai so I can spend a day here" but I don't think that is going to happen). Presumably I will be able to use the First Class Lounge in Dubai.
And then as I am flying Business Class Mel to Cbr I will be able to use the Domestic QF Business Lounge in Melbourne.
What about this Chauffer Drive? It says something that QFF travelling on awards in J or F have access. Do I need to change my booking from having my AA number attached to my QFF number to get this service?
As this is probably going to be a one off flying First Class I am determined to enjoy all aspects!! Funny I never had these sort of questions when I was flying Scoot, now I know why some AFF members are so stressed!!!
