I purchased a RTW ticket with Qantas and one of the flights was from London Heathrow to Manchester, flying BA. We arrived at Heathrow on 27 May when the IT system had crashed, so our flight was cancelled completely, with flights returning to normal about 3 days later. BA took responsibility for the IT crash. We made alternative arrangements to get to Manchester and did not claim for hotel expenses. Qantas are not accepting any responsibility and said I should contact BA. BA are saying that the flight wasn't booked through them and not their problem. Our luggage didn't arrive for 4 days so we claimed for necessities and EU compensation for the delayed flight which I would class as cancelled. Are we able to claim for the " cancelled flight" or would it be classed as a " delayed " flight and who would be responsible ? We also had travel insurance .Just wondering what our options are? I'm not too worried about it to be honest, just wondered which airline is responsible when you book and pay for a RTW ticket with an airline.
