Hi All

I am in the final stages of planning a J class oneworld explorer trip for dec07 /jan 08. Two questions arise:

1. Using the oneworld planner I cannot seem to get a direct flight IB from MAD to JNB. Any ideas on why? I know from the IB web site they exist.

2. Any ideas on where to find the best price for the trip or do all agents charge the same price?

Thanks

I haven't used the planner, but just a thought; the MAD-JNB service doesn't operate every day ; you are not trying to pick a day with no service are you?

I just cehcked using teh flight schedule info and found the follwoing direct flights (using the flight schedules rather than oneworld planner from the desktop schedules program):

3/12/07 - IB MAD-JNB 12:35-10:25 IB6051
4/12/07 - IB MAD-JNB 12:35-10:25 IB6051
6/12/07 - IB MAD-JNB 12:35-10:25 IB6051
7/12/07 - IB MAD-JNB 12:35-10:25 IB6051
9/12/07 - IB MAD-JNB 12:35-10:25 IB6051
10/12/07 - IB MAD-JNB 12:35-10:25 IB6051
11/12/07 - IB MAD-JNB 12:35-10:25 IB6051

So its not an everyday flight.

I have found the source of the problem. The oneworld planner timetable has IB flights only for the next 6 months. QF, AA, CX, JL etc have schedules for the next 12 months - so January 2008 means that IB flights will not show.

In general though as a noob this site is a fantastic resource. Its also confirmation that there are others who enjoy getting there as much and sometimes more than being there.

My friends think I am nuts. When I tell em I am going on a mileage run they will believe it for sure

Not sure if that is the root cause of your problem - I just did a test with the oneworld planner and in December it still came up with the flights mentioned above.

Welcome btw - its a great resource here and there is always more to learn :)
