RTW on points via Mauritius

Hi

I have tried compiling a RTW package using Qantas points, either from or to Sydney. Every alternative sends me via HK or elsewhere with significant surplus miles.

Qantas flies to Jo'burg. BA flies to Mauritius. I could rack up one leg Jo'burg/Mauritius "overland". Does anyone have any experience or suggestions please?

I have no experience on this route but it seems within the fare rules. I doubt that you would be allowed one sector "overland" I think it would count as two. When in doubt ring QF FF and ask. You don't have to buy and the advice is free!
