I am researching the star alliance RTW fares (not leaving until Feb 2025) and understand if I book in first class and have to do J when first is not available then it is all first class pricing (points) regardless. My question is if anyone has done the first class RTW, had to do some sectors in J and if you found it worth the additional points.

I recently tried to book a Star Alliance RTW for 2 pax in F and gave up. Finding 2 A bucket seats was impossible for many routes. Desirable airlines with F (eg SQ and NH) had A0 or only A1.

I've booked my F RTW with OneWorld - at least I could get F seats on BA,JL and QF. I know they aren't SQ.
