RTW Classic Rewards adding flights

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

While that is the correct name, you don't need to (and will likely achieve a better outcome if you don't) advise the phone operator anything other than 'I would like to book a reward flight' or 'I would like to add an award flight to my existing booking'.

IME the vast majority of operators will have no idea what an OWA is anyway, so it is just complicating things trying to explain it to them.

(Obviously if you have status and are speaking with someone in Hobart that would likely be an exception.)

The system works out everything by itself and will automatically cap the points if the booking qualifies as an OWA.
Assuming the customer actually knows the rules themselves lol

Thanks everyone for your comments and experience which by some of the comments, I am lacking in :). Getting a experienced call centre operator today, I was able to change this to a One World Award ticket by removing the Jetstar flight and not adding the KLM one. Appreciate the positive and educational comments from all. Have a great Christmas everyone.

Awesome news! Well done and congratulations on achieving the outcome that you wanted. You’ve done well. Enjoy the flights!

Congrats on the outcome.

Just another data point. I had Hobart team (the most competent) tell me that one of their senior managers looked at my additions and that I definitely can't do what I'm doing and what do I want to do with my itinery. I told them I suspect one flight was an error and that I'll get back to them in a few days after testing. The same person called back a week later and said "wow I can't believe you figured out that specific flight was the issue flight, everything is now solved and I'm ticketing now". So while they are definitely more experienced, they're also not infallible.

I ended up using dummy economy bookings (more availability) on the multicity booking to rule out every possible error and zeroed in on what exactly was wrong (in the process discover some other data points). That's also a good strategy when it comes to figuring out if your route is eligible without the long tedious job of finding the right business class seats. If the economy caps out at 134k your routes and logic are right and thus the same would apply to business class.
