Royal Brunei to start 787 service to Melbourne

Royal Brunei Airlines is bringing forward the date for its planned Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Melbourne. Originally planned to begin on April 1st 2014, the 787 is now scheduled to be deployed on the Bandar Seri Begawan – Melbourne route from March 10th 2014.
Effective March 10th 2014:
BI053 departs Bandar Seri Begawan daily at 20:00 arriving Melbourne 06:00 the next day. The return flight BI054 departs Melbourne daily at 13:25 arriving arriving Bandar Seri Begawan 17:25.
Royal Brunei Airlines 787-8 configuration – 254 seats

  • 18 Business Class seats in a 2-2-2 configuration
  • 236 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 configuration

Yes, but as a regular RB flyer. I can tell you that they have put there fares up in J class. They are now at $5800, but economy is at $1400. The service is still excellent, and still no booze, OK to bring your own.
Looking at EK this year or QF. Don't know yet, still havn't made up my mind??

latest info from Melbourne office is that it is due to happen on April 3rd. Maybe someone told them about April Fools' Day as i don't think it will be a prominent event in Islamic countries.
