Hey all,

There are some Europe specials flying Royal Brunei from Perth to London at around 1300 for Economy and 3600 for business. Not lengthy transit times too.

Has anyone flown their business class before or economy to comment on them as a long haul flight?

Thanks!

I flew economy with them a few years back. The Islamic prayer played over the TV/audio before each take off for safe travel, "shorten the journey" and "spare us from unpleasant view" was something even a non-Moslem would agree with. But seriously, they were OK. They won't provide alcohol, but if you brought your own duty free they would bring it to you (and keep it cold if required). At that time there were no seat-back screens, but this could have changed. Cabin staff were pleasant as were people on the ground at check-in etc. Part of the incentive for us was that until a couple of years back they treated under-16s as children when setting fares, which saved us a packet with our 2 early teenagers.

It's a fairly basic 'full service' carrier, and you don't earn any ff points that I know of. However, if the price is right...

You earn miles in their program, or Asia Miles (I think - Lindsay Wilson had a thread in regards to this last year).

I've only flown them to their hub, but found it to be a very reasonable airline and the meal in whY was decent. I even managed to snag exit rows

Which Royal Brunei equipment BNE-LHR

Looking at the 767-300 aircraft operated by Royal Brunei from BNE - BWN - DBX- LHR for a friend. Does anyone know which of the three configurations of 767 list on seatguru.com they use BNE-BWN and then BWN-LHR?

Would also be interested in any feedback regarding their IFE (if any).

Thanks for the help.

I flew non-stop BNE-LHR in October with my 15-year old daughter in Business class as they had extremely good fares at that time ($2000 each one-way).

We were more than happy with the flights. Food was fine if not spectacular. Crew friendly and attentive. Seats not lie-flat but good enough for 6 hours sleep across India. We had a four-hour transit in Brunei - tiny airport but pleasant business lounge with decent food. Lounge access offered in Dubai but you are there such a short time it's not really worth it. Slightly odd cabin configuration (2-1-2) but the middle seats were filled last. OK movie selection, can't remember much about it.

I would definitely add Royal Brunei to my list of decent carriers for this route.

A friend recently travelled BNE-LHR-BNE in Y with them.

Was quite acceptable for a Y product, i might mention he is 6'5".

They'll happily let you drink your duty free on borad, but dont carry any alcoholic drinks of their own.

He had a two stop trip (via brunei and DXB). Felt it was fine as it broke up the trip.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

OK, thanks for the links to the other threads - didn't find them when I was using the search function.
