So on many recent flights JQ has been pricing Row 1 as follows (the price example is from a OOL-CHC flight).

Seats 1A, 1B and 1C are being sold as "Exit Rows" with seats 1D-F sold as upfront seats (rows 2 and 3 are also the same $15 for an upfront seat).

On a handful on these flights I've purchased the Exit Row expecting no bulkhead in front but instead there has been a wall. Jetstar doesn't publish a seat map on their website (aside from the seat selection option) but as Qantas has now acquired many JQ A320s it's possible to see a detailed seat map of the JQ A320s.

The first version shows Row 1 as not an exit row with a bulkhead wall and then the second version shows 1A-C as an exit row.

Only all my recent JQ flights I've ended up with the first version (bulkhead wall in front of 1A-C) which is rather misleading giving you're paying more than seats 1D-F but receiving the same amount of legroom. Amusingly when JQ boarding all boarding passes in Row 1 scan red because they're an "exit row" despite not really being one.

Has anyone else come across this and found it a bit misleading?

I flew SYD-OOL on a JQ 320 recently and 1A-C were actually "exit row" (with no bulkhead.} It seems YMMV.

With the older config which has the missing bulkhead on 1ABC, you should be aware of the emergency slide mechanism in front of 1A which will limit your legroom. Also the pitch between 1DEF and the bulkhead is quite tight and can be uncomfortable.

The newer config with the bulkheads on both 1ABC/1DEF do seem to have more seat pitch between the bulkhead than 1DEF on the older config and I find it quite tolerable personally. But yes they're literally charging more for the left hand side on this config when in reality 1ABC/1DEF are exactly the same.

On the newer config, be aware of 1F on evening flights as the galley lighting can be very annoying and will shine directly towards you. Attentive FA's will wedge a safety card between the gap in the bulkhead to block out the light which I always find a nice gesture.
