For our latest dishwasher we bought a Siemens one. We had been impressed with them at some of our friends houses in Germany especially their quietness. When we bought it, about 7 years ago, most of the Bosch ones were built in China and had a 3 year warranty. Our Siemens was built in Germany and had a 5 year warranty. We have recently bought a Siemens oven so you can see that we are happy with the brand.

My daughter received her Miele dishwasher with a day or so of buying it. I assume the Model ordered makes the difference.

What is the expected lifespan of an appliance such as a dishwasher?

Our AEG was about 20 years old and in perfect working order when we left it as part of the house sale. Not once in that time did it ever require repair.
We purchased it on a recommendation from a dishwasher specialist in Adelaide.
I'm often dubious about what a retailer recommends but in this case it was the correct decision.

We bought a new dishwasher in Nov 2021. Died thirteen weeks later. First technician came out about two weeks later. Yep accepted under warranty, needs a new mother board. Next appt oh cancelled due to no arrival of parts, next appt cancelled due to technician booking off that day, next appt cancelled due to the part that had been allocated was used for someone else as the previous appts didn't happen .
So at thirteen weeks or thereabouts of no dishwasher husband was livid. Company called to cancel again husband said "nope" so new dishwasher was given and installed in three days .
Obviously at that point the new dishwashers were easy to obtain than replacement parts. Ah well at least a new dishwasher warranty

We have had our Bosch dishwasher for 10 years. Very very happy with it and so much quieter than our previous dishwasher.

Our Bosch dishwasher is about to hit 10 years too, hasn't skipped a beat, looking up the model the reviews on the Bosch website are very good for it. The washing machine (6 series) is still ticking along too but quite noisy, reading the reviews for that one the reviews are not at all complimentary; most of the negative ones referring to the drum/bearings...... funnily enough that's what is likely causing the noise on ours; but hey, nearly 10 years and it still works at least. Our fridge/freezer has been superb, will be sad to have that one go but hey ho. Hasn't had a single problem and Mrs FB noted it's the first fridge she's ever had that has never had any condensation etc. You pays your money ....... you get what you pay for.

I give my new vacuum cleaner 10/10. Suction is superb and has turbo head, backpack with v v long cord makes vacuuming a breeze and lots of useful handy tools. They also throw in 11 filters .
Highly recommend this brand / better power and much cheaper than my previous top of range Dysons..

The old one was still working fine but the upper rack kept coming of the rollers. The rollers made of plastic were deteriorating from age, heat and chemicals etc and when I looked at the costs of the replacement parts, a new one was a no-brainer.

I don't expect the new one will last as long as the previous (even though I made sure it didn't come from the Turkey factory) as my general observation is build quality of everything made for kitchens and laundries has moved downward in recent years in concert with competition on prices.

Main complaint about our office Bosch is its too quite so people dont know its working so open the door and get wet.

Apparently the lights on the front door is for decoration only

We replaced our 22yo Bosch dishwasher last year with another Bosch.

The old one was still working fine but the upper rack kept coming of the rollers. The rollers made of plastic were deteriorating from age, heat and chemicals etc and when I looked at the costs of the replacement parts, a new one was a no-brainer.

I don't expect the new one will last as long as the previous (even though I made sure it didn't come from the Turkey factory) as my general observation is build quality of everything made for kitchens and laundries has moved downward in recent years in concert with competition on prices.

In comparison, the new place has an integrated Electrolux dishwasher and I can see rust marks on the side of it already (only 5 years old). Ditto the fridge, can see condensation on the back wall (also 5 years old). I suspect we'll be up for a replacement of them soon enough. Oh, the washing machine (yes .. also 5 years old and also Electrolux etc.) was repaired last year, drum / bearing issues. Hopefully they'll at least hold out until the end of the year....

Whenever I've worked at a client site that has a dishwasher there's normally a sign stuck on it to let you know if it's on or not. That might help!
