It’s a personal choice re: use of island benches
I have just moved but all our houses (including this one have bench that contains sink/cooktop/etc) and separate island with no appliances. this is due to the fact I like lots of prep space in second bench and it is also a streamlined servery etc. for large functions. I don’t like sinks in islands for this reason - hate serving food around dirty dishes. Love my butlers pantRy as so much space freed up. Highly recommend

If we had a do over I think I’d keep the island bare and put the sink over by the stove.

I'm in the middle of planning a replacement kitchen, a very small u-shaped one but I'll end up with a long bench on one end - had a big disagreement with the degigner about moving the sink ti it. I'm a terrible grub & after preparing a meal the joint looks like a bomb site. No way do I want all the dirty dishes spread over the bench. And butlers pantries are heaven on a stick, as indeed are their panties. We're never going to unsee that are we?

Professional dishwashers have a 15 amp or 3 phase electricity option. Makes for rapid dishwashing as most of the time is in the heating up of the water and drying

Miele has a professional underbench one that is suitable for domestic use - so looks like a domestic version and all the features of a domestic but is very fast. Intensive cycle less than 45min.
Rated for 12500 wash cycles.

3N 400V = 3 phase with 400V phase voltage.
(The line voltage going in is 230V for each of the 3 active phases but total phase voltage = 230 ÷ √3)

Inpressively the "Intensive phase" takes only 48 min...

But the water and power consumption are so much higher on the quick washes aren’t they?

Electricity consumption does not change because it takes the same amount of electricity to heat water from 20 to 60c. Just quicker with 3 phase which incidentally is 16amp

But Yes the Pro versions use more water as the quick settings are quicker than the domestic versions

I’m not buying it but it is interesting what the differences are:

Eco 180min 0.6kWh and 13.2L
Intensive 48min 1.7kWh and 19.2L

So now I’m talking vacuum cleaners…. Given I have purchased all the European big ticket items (of which 3 are still months from delivery) I investigated what to get - huge house w lots of carpet
I have bought an industrial commercial one - HEPA filter/great suction/bagless and a backpack to boot !! I dont care what it looks like
- less than half the price of the ones I was researching. Had a dyson - never really happy but it looked good!

New house has all integrated appliances, Electrolux

We have fairly decent quality Bosch in our current place (and I love our fridge/freezer), but of course they don't gel with the integrated cupboard doors......... I'm guessing there's no way to convert and we'll just have to sell up before / as we move and/or leave them behind for our house buyers?

The new place I noticed the back of the fridge has a bit of condensation in it ... was there first viewing and still there at the 2nd, so likely will need replacing.

I would have thought a dishwasher was regarded as a fixture/fitting as they have to be installed. I.e would have to stay with the house unless specified otherwise.
