Hi there, has anyone got a work around for lounge options in Rome for a QF flight number operated by Emirates considering the Emirates website says Rome lounge is temporarily closed? I'm Gold FF am hoping to be able to get access somewhere to a lounge but research has come up empty. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Was just there 3 days ago. There is a lounge (I think it's called Ava Premier) that takes Qantas FF if you're on an appropriate flight or they also take Priority Pass. It's pretty basic but comfortable enough. Good was pretty average. You take a lift down one level. This is if your flight is in the G gates area.

Interestingly they accepted my WP card but wouldn't have accepted Mrs B's SG card. We were flying BA back to LHR in business but BA lounge also closed due to the recent fire at FCO. Not sure how it affects your Emirates flight. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that! But unfortunately it doesn't look like I would be eligible, going by the one world website together with what I've found on the avia lounge. Damn. It would be nice if an alternative lounge was offered.

Are you sure EK won't have made arrangements for access to another lounge?

All lounges at FCO are dire. See if you can pull compo from ek due to no lounge

Checking in as EK Platinum at Rome tonight, I was sent to the "Giotto" Alitalia lounge near gate G10. Nothing like as good as Emirates lounges. For example, the best scotch is JW Red, and the food selection is limited to salad, a bland pasta dish and small savoury rolls. Wines are interesting, and there is a wide selection of Italian aperitivo drinks. Being Italy, there is a big espresso machine and a busy barista/barman. Not a lot of seats, but just coping with numbers here this evening. The Emirates lounge was only one year old when destroyed by the fire in May. No forecast given of when it will re-open: this is Italy of course.

Such a shame since the EK lounge was really excellent. Went there just after it opened and made it bearable to fly out of FCO.
