Hasn't poor old Rex gone downhill over the last few years :(

I can sympathise with the Doctor. I don't fly Rex much, however I have about 4 times this year. On two occasions they were day trips and the flights were delayed so much out of Sydney that I just went home and didn't bother going at all! The other two flights were delayed by at least 90 minutes.

I didn't bother to send feedback (as I wasn't too upset to be missing out on my days in the country :D), but i'm glad I didn't if that's the usual response!

The joys of operating aircraft that don't have a new replacement available and are twenty+ years old!

Clearly the Rex response needs to be printed in the Griffith rag and sent to local businesses and MP.

They will extract the truth and deliver comeuppance.

Important people rely on Rex who have a corporate social responsibility to bat straight and not denigrate others professions as mere trivializations

Looks like there has been another exchange of letters between the two parties though this isn't mentioned anywhere. The below graphic shows an excerpt from another Rex reply:

Who are these idiots running Rex? What a bunch of tosspots!

Wow. "You did not respond to the questions posed by our chairman . . "

Something's amiss here.

However, that looks like the real dr thorburn. Not sure why he'd make up a letter. Perhaps someone could ask him

I didn't say he made up the letter. It's just sitting, unexplained, in a newspaper graphic.

No you didn't say he made it up. But that is one option and if the newspaper made it up on current form that be subjected to letter writing as well, I guess.

Mr Tan may well have sent a follow up email after it appeared in the papers. I think he honestly believes the Doctor should answer his stupid questions... It's been all downhill for Rex since the current management/ownership took over. Such a shame, I have many fond memories of Kendell and Hazelton from when i was much younger.

Pretty sure I've lost more time waiting for medical professional running late than aircraft running late ;)

Poor response...but I thought it was quite amusing. Doctors do seem to think that their time is more important than everyone else's.
Actually I spend more time waiting for patients than the other way around. When I do Out Patients clinics it is normal for 1 in 3 patients not to turn up.Gives me more time on AFF though!

Some of the original links don't seem to be working so did a search and found the following:
'Sheer arrogance': anger over Rex's 'insulting' complaint response

The original letter is at the end of the article.

I guess that this problem indicates the degree of difficulty in the bush following the 10 year drought, when so many bush people stopped using planes. For example, the Dubbo - Coonamble - Walgett (I think) - Lightning Ridge service (called the local milk run) run (from memory) by Air Link stopped flying some years ago.

They don't like competition much though

Where is the competition going to come from? Sharp? Skywest? Brindabella?

If a community really wants to keep an airline service, don't they usually just jump up and down really hard and the government will make sure they still have services anyway?
