Rewards flight booking. Can you cancel one leg?

Morning brains trust, just wondering if there is any work around for the following. Attending to book a business reward flight for my husband and I. CDG-KL on MH in January 7 2027. There is one seat on the flight and one seat available AMS-CDG-KL. Is it possible to book the AMS-CDG-KL flight and then cancel the AMS-CDG sector so we both end up with a seat on the CDG-KL flight? Thanks in advance for your help
