Waterfront buildings near Old Town bridge are a photography magnet. We walked back towards the Radisson and took our photos looking across the water to Bakklandet. We had dinner at Lan Na-very nice Thai food with cold draught beer & white wine.

Those painted houses are so pretty.

When you said you were catching the train to Dombas I was thinking that was in Ukraine and why (and then I realised I was thinking of Donbas 🤷‍♀️)

A 2 night stay in a small freestanding house located on the same big block as the owners own home. Great spot about a slow 10min walk from the train station. Very responsive owners but not interested in conversing while we were there. They have a nice, although a little cramped, set-up. A great general room, excellent bed, a small but functional kitchen and a very cramped bathroom where everything at least was well maintained, extremely clean & functional. Another upstairs bedroom wasn't used & the washing machine was downstairs in a basement.

There is a well-stocked supermarket and a wine shop are near the train stop along with other commercial shops-Intersport has had a presence everwhere so far. We ate both nights at the Grand Hotel- just a couple of minutes flat wobble away-nice enough food and reduced our risk of getting wet on the walk home

Our highlight was the funicular ride- weather held off pretty well & we scored some excellent views of various peaks & valleys. There seemed to be a real mix of nationalities up top with the dreaded American accents loud & clear. The funicular goes every half hour & the carriage wasn't overcrowded at this time of year-we could see some hardy people making the accent by foot & some seemed to be really struggling. Thankfully not a lot of wind up the top & we restricted ourselves to a circular walk not far from the top station- gone are our days of clambering everywhere like some others were doing- pretty reasonable rock steps & crusher dust tracks in the areas we used.
