Reward Seat vs Any Seat

When I put it my search for "points plus pay" to see what's available it shows availability for Reward Seats, then when I log into my account they vanish and I can only choose any seat which is of course almost 3 times as many points.
Why?
I'm trying to see how many points I would need to fly the family to LA from Sydney next year and if they are available.

Don't know... I tried it and there is no issues with my sign in. For the record the points in 'Y' are 44800 each way for one pax. The cash component is approx. $114 going over and $45 coming back. Can't help you with availability. Suggest you cantact VA and ask why. Have you tried all the usual things like clearing cache, cookies and rebooting etc....YMMV

Please try this: search one way for each individual sector. The reward seats are usually visible

Never seen that issue. Seems like you can find the points and availability without logging in? Maybe then call to book, if you can't resolve this issue.
