So I recently booked a reward flight to Dublin next year for 125,000 points + approx $80 in taxes on credit card . Anyway was on train home when a call comes through from Velocity advising me that due to a system error on their part I was not charged the credit card surcharge of $30 on the booking and asking me to pay by card over the phone. I said that it was not a good time as I didn't want to be relaying card details over the phone on a train, and I would like to check the receipt/cc statement when I got home. The rep told me to call by tomorrow otherwise the ticket would be cancelled.

So ... 50% of me thinks fair enough - I'm getting a good deal on the flight anyway, just pay.. The other 50% thinks it was their system error, it was ticketed and a receipt issued and it seems petty to be chasing up $30... grrrrrr. Has anyone else had this happen?

Yeah, I be peed off, but if they'd told you when you were booking that is was $80 in taxes plus $30 CC charge, would you have said no? You said you're getting a good deal, so let it go, pay it, and start booking up your hotels and tours and getting excited about the things you want to do. Have fun :)
