Hi everyone,

I'm looking at a Qantas classic reward flight from Aus to Europe return for December 2019. In my search I've noted that there is a lack of awards with Cathay or Qatar in Business class for as far out as the search goes.

I am aware that Cathay reduced their award seats in the past few months, however I have noticed an even further reduction in seats that are far away in the past few weeks. Has anyone else noticed this as well? I have tired to check at 10:00am Brisbane time but this still hasn't assisted me.

I have found a lack of award seats in Business between Aus and Hong Kong (though a fair amount of reward space between Hong Kong and Europe). On the return, finding anything from Europe to Aus (on Cathay or Qatar) seems as rare as hens teeth!

Any suggestions? I'm looking for mid December departure and the dates I want will be available next week. My other options are buying a one way (or possibly return) economy fare to Hong Kong, or waiting for Emirates and JAL to release their award seats.....

It’s too early for those seats to be released yet.
