Fiji Airways are now showing the 737 max 8 returning to service from 1 April.

Are they just being optimistic ?

They have been using their A330s for some previously 737 max 8 flights, so hundred or so extra seats/flight to try & sell, to Fiji that is, but 1 red eye BNE/NAN per week, seems to have disappeared.

I'm sure they have no idea - but I imagine the schedule will be incrementally updated over time.

I understand Air Canada have removed it from the schedule until July.

I mentioned this on the other thread, the day after flights were canned they were still advertising the 737 Max from April 1st. I think FJ will update their schedule progressively.

with school holidays starting in Qld 5 April, they might need either the max or "borrow" an aircraft from someone, like QF or even Nauru Airlines.

That's what Air Canada said publicly, but 3 days ago my parents got an email advising their flight on the 13th of May has been changed from an A320 to a Max 8.

We've asked AC to either confirm if this was an error, to rebook them on another flight not serviced by a 737 Max, or to refund the tickets so they can rebook with a carrier that doesn't own any Maxes.

Im looking to book in April 2020 their website says its a max. Are they currently using the 737 MAX i saw they grounded it but has it been re-introduced?

Ah thanks, feel a little better about things. Ive never flown with Fiji airways before but scored a great business deal flight from Nadi to Washington with American Airlines. I just need to book the connection to NADI, i will have a 5 hour wait there, are they pretty reliable, the flight will be on a separate PNR

if 5 hours means from Brisbane, you have plenty time to leave the airport. The new business lounge at Nadi is great, but I don't know whether I'd want to stay there 3 hours.

If planning on leaving airport, don't get herded into a transit lounge, when someone from the airline, says U.S. assengers this way.
