Restaurants - 3 points per A$1

Alot of the restaurants on the list are ones our company frequents to entertain clients and partners....with not much restraint! Hello some handy bonus points!!

Some of those restaurants are in the Entertainment Book. I wonder if you could get the EB discount PLUS the QF points... ;)
Another place I get e-mails from is on the old Citibank World Priveleges list. Their promo may be similar to the Ent Book promo, but it may be more sueful to AFF readers with Citi credit cards.

This (Sydney bistro) e-mail message essentially promotes the 3 QFF pts-per-AUD$ promo:

Earn Qantas frequent flyer points at Bistro Lilly

...James had his engagement party for 60 people at Bistro Lilly. At the end of the evening James bill came to $5,200...
He paid the bill using his Amex card and presented his Qantas FF card because we're a Restaurant Partner of the Qantas FF Program.

James earned over 20,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Points! - 5200 from Amex and 15600 from Bistro Lilly.

This was enough to earn flights for James and his girlfriend to Queensland!

Perhaps it would have been more prudent for James to take his fiancé to Queensland rather than his girlfriend

LOL  :D :D

And that, boys and girls, is why God created the pre-nup.

To earn only 5,200 AMEX points James clearly didn't have a Platinum or MR card

I knew it wouldn't take long to pick up James' poor choice of card promo... but he's quite an operator with women. :D

I hardly ever carry my card with me either, and really don't want to be carrying yet another card around. It's surprising how many plastic cards one accumulates these days.
I find it useful to carry the QF Platinum card with me at all times but I am not so sure I will be earning too many QFF points from this promotion as I am not likely to be visiting the restaurants listed very often if at all.

Used a restaurant for the first time in Melbourne the other day.

Lovely restaurant, with slow service.

Fortunately/Unfortunately they didn't charge me for everything that I ordered so I will end up with less QF points that I should have....

$90 dinner = 405 QF points (1.5 per $ for the Plat Amex & the 3/1 QF offer)

Now I have the SQ card with 3 SQ points per $1 until 1st Nov

$90 dinner = 270 QF points AND 270 SQ points :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

Going to be eating out ALOT now

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

At the restaurant I went to, they swiped my QF card and I was given a receipt which said points would be posted within 7 days! Yet the QF site says MAY take up to 8 weeks.

It's currently 6 days and no points but I have the receipt so not worried at all

This is a great idea from QF and I hope they expand it to ALOT more restaurants.

A restaurant has dropped off the list in Melbourne

Was previously 39 restaurants, now only 38

I hope this is not a sign of things to come :(

So as of 12th July:

NSW 60 Restaurants
VIC 38
QLD 36
WA 8
SA 7
TAS 6
NT 1

Be interested to see if they decline or rise over the new few months

I have a work dinner in VIC soon for 20 people which I can claim back, hopefully $2500 on dinner will be spent, for a lazy 7500 QF points and 7500 SQ points :)

We recently ate at Chinta Blues in St Kilda where they have so gotten on board that the menus and the bill trays all have QFF branding.

When we paid, the manager even came over and explained the whole deal to us (including our CC earning, which he was totally on top of) and was very keen to promote it - but he said something that definitely caught our attention.

He mentioned that if you have linked an Everyday Rewards card to your QFF card, for the first two months you actually get 5 points per $1 at the restaurant (well, at their restaurant at the very least). I've seen no information on any of the websites that verifies this special deal, so will have to wait and see how the points show up.

Anyone else heard of this?

Would be VERY interesting if it was 5 points per $1!

I haven't seen nor received anything confirming this though

That's a nice incentive. I guess you'll have to check how many points you get to confirm the rate.

How long does it take for points to show up inyour online statements? Went Kobe jones on the 3rd June and still haven't earned any points.

Out of the 9 restaurants in Perth, I have only been to Bar on Barrick. After a month my points finally posted however considering they charge $8.50 for a spirit, I think I'll stick to my other water holes I know that only charge $7. There pizza and pint deal is good value however.

A VERY nice dinner in a Greek restaurant in MEL last night

400 QF points coming my way in a few weeks  along with 400 SQ points for paying on the AMEX

:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

A friend and I recently dined out at The Isthmus Of Kra in South Melbourne.
It's been a favourite of mine for years - I had my 40th there but haven't been back since then until this promotion was announced.

We started with the house specialty - Steamed rose-shaped BLUE DUMPLINGS dyed with butterfly pea flowers, filled with caramelized minced beef. $16.50
We also had to try QUAIL KAI YOUNG, from Bendigo gourmet poultry farm. Basically jumbo size farmed quail deboned, marinated and rolled with herbs. It is pan grilled and served with a mind blowing cilantro fish sauce with a touch of garlic chili. $17.50

We then moved on to the mains.
Deciding to share we ordered House favourite, oven-roasted DUCK PED YANG in red curry stock textured with eggplants, Chinese melon and fresh tangy pineapple. $29.50
and
Hot plate grilled corn fed CHICKEN PAI NAI from Bendigo poultry farm marinated with fragrant spices and honey. It is served with green mango/apple kerabu salad. $27.50

The food was superb - just as good as I remember it all those years ago.
Dessert was home made ice creams and a Steamed hazelnut CHOCOLATE PUDDING with cardamom seed custard.

Wine was by the glass - Heggies Reisling for my friend and I had the Pertaringa Merlot. Both were $8 a glass.

We dined on June 26 and 468 points were credited to my account on July 17 as well as points credited on my Qantas Amex Premium card.
