Sorry to dredge up an old thread.

Went to Wilsons Boathouse Seafood Restaurant in Brisvegas last weekend.

Handed over the QFF card, which the waiter took, then returned saying they couldnt process it due to the fact we had already handed over an entertainment (gold) card! Probably fair enough , but a bit disappointed anyway. :(

Can highly recommend the paella, you wont need entree beforehand either (although the chowder I had and the oysters mrsdoc and motherdoc had looked amazing (and tasted amazing apparently, not that they have me one!)

Went nicely with the Mrs Wigley Rose too I might add (both bottles!)

Just got our restaurant points for July posted on 28 August (that's up to 8 weeks, not the 7 days promised in the receipts issued by the QFF machine) - sadly, no double points within 2 months of signing up for Everyday Rewards, the manager at that restaurant must have been mistaken.

Still, quite a handy supplemental source of points, certainly more effective than Everyday Rewards itself. :)

LOL yeah, I had the same thing happened to me at Kobe Jones (I posted a review somewhere on this forum, but can't find it any more). Oh well, can't have your cake and eat it too, I guess.

But makes me think that the merchant must be paying something for this. LOL, how about I start up my own reward program and just ask others to finance it? :)

I should post a few reviews as I have been to quite a few of the Melbourne restaurants now.

Points have all taken over 6 weeks to post!

Up to 46 restaurants in Melbourne now, I hope they keep adding more as more QFF points are always a nice bonus and an encouragement to try new restaurants!

Likewise, so far all mine have claimed, but they take FOREVER to post to my QFF account.

It states 8 weeks to post on the website... Mine take about 6wks, which does seem like forever because we are spoilt by QF flights posting sometimes within minutes of flights!!

Had an interesting experience at Blue Train in Melbourne last night. I've been a few times and handed over my card and received the bonus points. Last night when went to pay I handed over my FF card and was told "sorry, we don't do Frequent Flyer points anymore". As I was leaving I noticed the Frequent Flyer sticker still on the window so I went back in and complained that if they don't accept the cards then they should take down the sticker on the window. The same guy who served me then said "We've just installed a new machine and it's not compatible with the Frequent Flyer cards".

My gripe is that they still advertise that they accept the cards, Qantas still have them on their website, yet you can't use the cards. That was the very reason I went there last night.

I'll be letting Qantas know about this.

Not happy Jan!

Keep the receipt.... hold them to it, and ask for the points from QF. Or is this dreaming

Qantas will not care, take it up with restaurants.

As per the Qantas website

"Restaurant list correct at the time of upload to qantas.com. Some restaurants may have since closed or no longer offer points."

Just received an email as I have signed up a few people for QFF recently. It may be worth signing up a family member via the Everyday rewards program and using their card to get 5 points per $1 spent. With a total of 8 points per $1 spent in restaurants (3 from Commbannk Amex) it almost makes the meal free.

Now serving 5 points for every dollar spent

Exclusive offer for new Qantas Frequent Flyers.

Dine out at any of our partner restaurants between 1 June 2009 and 28 Febuary 2010 and you can earn 5 points for every dollar you spend instead of the usual 3 points per dollar*.

* You must show your Qantas Frequent Flyer card to the restaurant at the time of purchase in order to earn points. Points are earned on meals and beverages purchased from the restaurant only, but exclude home deliveries. Points are not earned on tips and gratuities. Points from restaurants may take up to eight weeks to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. Points cannot be split between members. Five points per $1 spent offer ends 28 Febuary 2010 and is only open to members who join Qantas Frequent Flyer after 1 June 2009.

I had one double points (targeted I assume) for restaurants so I thought i'd take advantage of it.

Normal points credited, and I was told to wait until the promo ends (next week) before enquiring what happened to my bonus points. I was then told that if I do not get the bonus points, I need to contact the restaurant as it's their responsibility??

Not sure what's going on there but the restaurant just swiped my WP card, the receipt shows the amount spent, and that's it. Methinks it may get messy with QF chasing these ones up.

I paid my first visit last night to a participating restaurant. Unfortunately not a happy experience. Service poor and the waitress got my wife's order wrong and also the wine I ordered. Staff certainly lacked proper training but hey I got some points.

My points posted yesterday some 5 days after visit so not too shabby.

If we're getting 3 points per dollar then what must the restaurants be paying Qantas for this promotion?

No promotion, just an every day offer if the restaurant participates.

Based on the low number of points being provided, I'm guessing it's not going to add up to much.

Restaurant: Komachi Restaurant
Date of dining: Monday 25 January 2010
Date of QF points posting: 12 February 2010
Meal Cost: $45

A simple japanese restaurant at Surry Hills, where it's famous for it's Challenge Ramen - a game where you can have a crack at eating a super-sized bowl of Ramen Noodle with soup. You've got 60minutes to everything in the bowl, and if you manage to do it, the bowl of noodles is free! If you don't, you pay the $50 entry fee. But not many people succeed, and if you are the ones that beat the odds, you can elect to have your photo plastered on the restaurant window as well as their website.

I elected to not take this challenge as I would have failed miserably, so I chose for the Agedashi Tofu for my entree and the ChaShu Pork Ramen as my main - which I thought both were quite good quality. Service was fast and efficient, with very friendly waitstaff. My partner ate something else... I can't remember now  but otherwise, she was quite satisfied with her choice.

Anyway, QF points posted a bit after two weeks. But all in all, a good casual place to dine out.

What a place to offer QFF points!

I am so trying that Challenge Ramen if I get time in SYD again, even if it means I won't get my 150 QFF points. :p :D

I would join you! The stats aren't really that great though : "Current number of challenger 478 Winner 17"

How much food could it be? 1L, perhaps 2 of soup, and maybe 500g of noodles? It's a pity they don't have the measurements on the site.
