Restaurant advice for Noumea

We'll be coming to Noumea on a cruise in two weeks time and we'd love to leave the ship to have a nice authentic French lunch somewhere close to the port. We've been to Noumea before and had some lovely meals but I remember that the place is not too easy to navigate by foot.
If anyone has been recently and could recommend a place that is reachable from the cruise port, I'd love to contact the restaurant in advance to reserve a table (we're three people). Many thanks!
