Requesting classic reward seats

Hi everyone

Newly minted WP and first time poster here.

Was wondering when requesting additional reward seats are released - can one request these seats for anyone or do I have to be travelling.

Yes you can, don't have to be travelling. But I have always wondered if availability is shadow reduced if WP is not also travelling.

Not for anyone - has to be one of the eligible relationships to you.

Was your request straight-out knocked back the first one or two times you called, or was there an issue which made you have to ring up another time and succeed?

Sounds like one of the cases where for some reason overseas call centres can't get an instant response from the bot, but I'll let @MatthewYVR confirm (also welcome to AFF!)

IME it make no difference, when I am after 3 seats I always request for 2 first (Mrs&MissM or my parents) which I often get. Once their tickets are confirmed I will request one for myself via separate booking. It probably makes no difference but it just the way I am used to doing things.
