Requalify for gold with only 110SC

There seem to be little constancy with Virgin Status and its costumer service. I will quality for Platinum on Qantas in a month with regular flying. I did the virgin match to Gold last year, It expired, I have 105 or 110 status I think, but no soft landing to silver or status retain. I am surprised that some get it and others don't for no reason. Just booked VA flight and paid for baggage.

I was offered the opportunity of keeping Gold if I flew a return business leg, but I did not fly because I was in Europe for the past 2 months and VA has no partners in Europe, and had no chance to fly. Oh well, will only use virgin when I have to for convenience sake and stick with Qantas.

I agree with you 100%. I have no bookings current or planned with that "airline".

Totally different!

Firstly no status match to Plat :)

That person lives in the Gold Gold was Plat and has slowly moved away from Qantas, well, because they don't fly to/from the Gold Coast

Now with new flights to SYD they want this person to start flying Qantas on this route again!

I think it was a very smart move!
They still got WP when entitled to Silver.

It was Qantas's decision to abandon the GC and it is a smart move to go back to the GC and give this person WP again.

Not totally different at all.

Why no soft landing to Silver :?:

What route/s has Virgin abandoned then ?
What route/s has Virgin re-instated and wants to get customers flying with them again ?

Virgin is not consistent with anything that it does!

One of their latest "efforts" is a minor refurb of the Ex Emirates A330's when they could have fitted them out the same as the other newer ones!

Simple but totally OT.

DJ has abandoned and reinstated various routes.

That has nothing to do with the topic which is what I was referring to. ... the topic WAS something about giving under qualified people higher levels of status if I recall correctly :!:

So it would appear that Virgin are also adopting a policy of comping random individuals status for another year. No different to Qantas in a way.

I know this is not easy to take for those doing it the hard way but not much you can do about it other than take your business elsewhere in disgust.

And is it still only the 2 people that have reported being comped?

Not quite..

You raised the following point:

They still got WP when entitled to Silver.

It was Qantas's decision to abandon the GC and it is a smart move to go back to the GC and give this person WP again.

QF - This was targeted towards a person who lives in the Gold Coast and no doubt stopped flying QF when they pulled out of the route.
DJ - Seems to target anyone who simply doesn't fly enough even after being comped, no logic it seems, just a please fly us more please please please

I think QF's move is very smart

A previous loyal QF customer, who flew DJ, now is moved back to Plat when flights resume in his home town

ISA BNE?? Adelaide Broome??

Yes there are quite a few, but DJ should be targeting customers who are silver/gold in those towns and giving them double SC offers or something like that to help them move up the ranks and fly DJ more

.... and maybe they are. We just don't know.
