Hi there, I am a bronze QANTAS member with few points and rarely travel. I need to renew my QANTAS club membership, and am hoping to avoid the $600 fee. I have several complimentary lounge passes that I can't access without renewing, and also am having trouble booking AirBNB through the QANTAS website.

I am wondering if signing up to any points-accruing credit cards will also cover my membership renewal automatically (I currently have an AMEX and recently cancelled an ANZ card). I can't find any concrete answers on the banks' pages.
Any assistance would be appreciated! Thank you

To my knowledge the only card in Australia that includes Qantas Club membership is the Amex Centurion, but at a 5k join fee and 6.5k annual fee (if you meet fairly strict Amex criteria) it's hardly a good deal.

You can also earn a Qantas Club membership by earning 350k points across your membership year to achieve Points Club Plus. Those 350k can be through multiple credit card sign-ups, other "ground earning", and some flying. If you churn three cards each year, particularly if there are some decent SUBs around, you can potentially achieve this for less than $500 in annual fees but it requires some forward planning..

The last option to save a small amount on your renewal is to join AFF as a paid member, and hop onto the AFF corporate scheme. You can read more about it here:

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

If you can churn 3-4 cards a year then Points Club Plus really is a great reward for hitting the 350k point mark. It's the only scheme where you get an extra reward for already extracting good value out of the program!
