Renaming CBR airport?

I don't like naming airports - screws up search engines too much (if you don't know the IATA code).

I remember putting in Atlanta in a search engine a few years ago. Of course nothing came up - i had to put in Hartsfield to find it.

Leave it as Canberra.

Well she's got the 2500 signatures, now lets see if anything happens

Good lord!

Interesting Idea, but the RAAF base has been Fairbairn for as long as I can remember - call it that though histories sake if it has to have a name.

In any case, do people say I'm going to O'hare or Fiumicino - no, it's Chicago or Rome.

I used to live in Chicago and everyone there always refer to fly from/to O'hare or Midway.

When you have more than one airport in a city, it can be handy to be able to differentiate.

It's helpful if your hotel transfer actually goes to JFK to pick you up as opposed to "New York Airport".

Not that Canberra will get a second one. But they probably will before Sydney does :(

Good for her, that's a terrific idea and fitting recognition of a man who contributed a lot to aviation. I hope it gets up.

He charges exorbitant fees for everything else at the airport, so i guess if they pay him enough he might change it.
