Reminder - QF Business Rewards

Hi Folks

This is my PSA about QF Business Rewards - your points expire after 18mths of inactivity.

I only found this out/reminded myself when I logged into my account and noticed 270,000 odd points had been zero-ed out on 01/08/2021. I basically forgot about QF Business Rewards since I haven't been flying.

Yes it my own fault for not remembering (mea culpa) but to my best knowledge I didn't receive any reminders/emails about this.

The positive news is that I had the points reinstated after speaking to a customer service person who read the standard paragraph about keeping my account active. Points should be put back in approx 24hrs. Fingers crossed.

Anyway, I share this tale for others to learn from my mistake.
 
Fortunately I managed to get a few flights in earlier in the year plus plenty of QF wine purchases.

I reached out to Qantas to ask whether it notifies QBR members when their points are going to expire, and they told me that:

Qantas Business Rewards members receive reminders and notification warnings if their points are facing expiry, via email and the QBR Newsletter. These messages include easy tips and links on how to quickly and simply earn or use points to keep points active.

I was just wondering if you could have a look back please to check whether you did in fact get any emails at all informing you that your points would expire? (Even if it was right at the bottom of a newsletter you didn't read?)

Looking through my email trash I couldn't find any QF Business emails prior to 01/08/2021 (when my points expired). Sorry I couldn't be of any assistance.

I did learn that unlike personal accounts, transfer of points out from QF Business accounts does qualify as 'activity' and will keep your QF Business accounts current.

Thanks for having a look. Have you received any emails at all from QBR (about other things), or were you unsubscribed to emails?

Unfortunately I didn't have any emails prior to 17/08/2021.

I get at least two emails a month. From what I can tell, the account balance email comes out every second month.
