Arrived 2.5 hrs before flight, took 30min to check in. Couldnt do web check in because of exit row....

I got seat 1c on the a320 so hope for a good red eye flight!

Why cant they introduce priority check in for QFF elites? (rhetorical q)

Not jetstars fault but the Perth International Lounge is pretty poor :/

Not that it helps the wound, but you've done well to get the lounge at all.

I've found they're becoming more inclined to close it when there are only JQ flights operating

Flying to SIN? If you're flying the route frequently enough, what is the cost difference between JQ + bags + value pack + row 1 and QF/SQ ex-SIN? You could get a cheap points upgrade then too.

Rhetorical or not, with the genesis of Jetstar, lounge access was not even available for QFF elites before a JQ flight.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

In saying so, the flight crew were pretty friendly. Tick to jetstar.

Food was, umm not sure if you could qualify it as food.

Im actually going KUL via SIN, coming back via MH.

The first lounge doesnt open until 3pm. I would be pissed off as they selling qf codeshares for these JQ flights.

Flight to KUL now!

Anyway im grouchy cos I need more shut eye.

We just did 3k Sin-Kul and thought the flight was great.
Staff were super friendly HWOBA turned to me and said - "Am I someone special??" when we were handed out comfort packs.
I was very confused then said to him oh umm I paid extra to earn points, I never looked at what else comes with it because I didn't care.
We got everything it was great!

I do hope the enchantment continues.. Though the last time I looked they still only had One painted Star on their planes, which often denotes the carriage class & execution of service delivery - IMHO ;)

I am also hopeful the enchantment continues. We have had great staff and service on all our flights recently with JQ, 3K, QF and TZ.
Business class trips with points recently ruined HWMBA and I had to buy a Lounge Membership to appease him... so to be on a pure economy flight and be happy with the service it was great. My partner remarked they were the most comfortable seats he had been on so far... not everyone is a fan but I think you get what you pay for and I am happy to pay for a budget flight and be pleasantly surprised when expectations exceeded and not disappointed when they are met.

Actually I'm travelling JQ , PER - DPS tomorrow (4th Nov )seated 1A ...The only reason I'm on JQ is that there is no QF metal on the PER - DPS route........

That seat sounds impressive! Must be palatial.. :D
Would you try GA for PER/DPS ?

On a320 left hand side 1abc is the best seat on the plane.

Whilst on 1def, there is a bulkhead blocking alot of leg room

Enjoy your flight to dps

If you set your expectations accordingly, then JQ can be pleasant. We fly *Class (I refuse to call it Business) SYD-HKT. Check in at T-2:45, 3 course meal plus lots of Bollinger in the lounge, sat in in 1A/B and the cabin only had 2 other pax including 1 deadheadhing pilot.

The crew were young Thais. I can honestly say that they were cheerful, anticipated our needs (never had to ask for a single refill or water during the flight) and were always available.

The food was medicore, but as we had eaten in the F lounge it really didn't matter.

We're returning to Thailand, but I just couldn't do JQ on an overnight flight so we booked QF J home.

I always find 3K to be consistently good. Food is fine (but I do have shockingly low standards), seat is about on par for a LCC and crew are friendly enough. I quite often score exit rows for free when I ask at the counter, if there are any available.

Like others mentioned, I'm now much happier thinking of JQ/3K/etc as normal LCCs with random bonus benefits for QFF thrown in, rather than as some sort of Qantas Lite. Still better than SQ's approach - that is, keeping their LCCs as far away from its parent as possible.
