10% doesn't seem like a lot of bonus - do people think there will be a better offer later, or is this the best Qantas will do with credit card points transfers? Gone are the days of 50% bonuses etc?

Based on the timing and offer end date, I guess they’re hoping that people won’t transfer their Amex points elsewhere before the devaluation hits. I’d say they’re dreaming! 10% is miserly.

I agree with the conclusion (that they are trying to entice amex users to convert to QF) but the execution is terrible.

I can either transfer 100k carrier points to CX/QR/etc which after the devaluation, would cost 300k amex points for the same 100k carrier points

OR

transfer 100k to QF, +10% from this deal so 110k, which after the devaluation would cost... 220 amex points.

They aren't making up the difference with a measly 10% and this doesn't move the needle for me.

This appears to be a targeted offer (presumably only open to people who have previously made a charge card transfer) - I didn't get it.

Reading the T's & C's, offer is not transferable, email not to be shared and is for the member who received the email only.

And it thanked me for registering 🙅‍♀️

So what are people doing with their Amex points prior to 15 Dec? I have stockpiled a lot...
I will be sending most of my balance across to Qatar Avios, I am hoping for a last-minute transfer bonus out to Avios, however given the upcoming deval that seems very wishful thinking.

The rate for AMEX AU Reward Points to QF is 2:1 now and will remain 2:1. QF and VA aren't being devalued on AMEX's side (for now).

So this is a 10% bonus now, which means for 100K you'll get 55K now and 50K if you do it after 15 December.

The issue is that 10% just isn't a lot, especially to lock points into QFF which has had a devaluation this year and has horrendous availability. Then again, if you aren't sending them somewhere else before the AMEX devaluation, this may be as good as it's going to get with QFF for the foreseeable future.
