Refund of Points and TravelBank

Some may not agree, but if they don't end up refunding you, then contact your credit card company and do a charge back.
In this case, I think it is fair to request a chargeback if they will not refund. The airline are not incurring any expense on the cancelled points booking, and the taxes will not be collected by the authorities as you did not fly.

How far in advance can we cancel booking with no fee etc?
I have tickets to the USA for November I paid with points & pay.
I would still like to go but honestly don't think travel to the USA will be happening this year.

I'd say extremely unlikely, and with virgin all the more so.

What's unkikely? Getting the refund, or going? Or both!?
At the moment I'm happy to keep the booking but I don't see the trip happening, I don't see ANY travel to the USA happening in 2020 by any airline. But I also don't think I should have to lose all my hard earned points and cash either.

I received an email yesterday saying that it will be processed in the next few days, all taxes and points will be returned! So that was a win!

Funny enough I received an email yesterday refusing my chargeback I made back in April. I'm guessing some decision has been made in the background.

I'm obviously seeking why that is given the booking and travelbank were made before Virgin went into Voluntary administration and was never offered a refund back onto my credit card like some people had.

See if they respond back or I'll attempt to book now before the new owners attempt to degrade the current travelbank credits or offer a spend $1 for every $1 in your travel bank thing.

There ARE airlines travelling to the US now and will certainly be doing that for the rest of 2020. Did you mean 'no airline direct from Australia' because that's probably more accurate. Though it's theoretically possible to get there if you want to fly via third hubs..

That said there are VA and QAN flights FROM the US (e.g repatriation flights) still going at the moment or have those finished for now ?
